Steve Lane can’t wait to get his hands back on the first Skater Powerboats 318 catamaran, which as it happens is his first catamaran, this spring. Then again, Lane, a retired 51-year-old businessman who lives in Toms River, N.J., is a patient guy. Thanks to a variety of factors including delivery of his 31-footer’s twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines, the build took longer than expected. The early summer 2015 shakedown cruise Lane had hoped for on his home waters of Barnegat Bay became a moment behind the wheel during the cat’s dial-in and setup session on Wisconsin’s Lake Winnebago near the headquarters of Mercury Racing.   Read more....
