Could this be the new "normal" when it comes to high tides in Point Pleasant Beach ?
The morning of the day this video was taken, the tide was back over the south wall of the Manasquan Inlet and flowing into the streets of Point Pleasant Beach. It has been an increasing concern of many property owners anytime now the slightest storm is forecasted and just in general a full moon tide. Superstorm Sandy has changed the landscape so much from the coastline to the back bay areas filling the bay with sand, houses, cars, boats and debris displacing where the water level would normally be.
Cleanup is underway, The removal of several hundreds of boats are already recovered and a proposal has been approved to dredge the bay. We can only hope that will be enough to bring the water levels back to pre-Sandy heights.
